The analysis plan utilized a within-case, across-case approach to code and analyze emerging themes, and to compare results across the two cities. Participants recruited in Jackson were primarily Black gay men, while Boston participants were mostly non-Hispanic White gay men. Participants in both sites shared concerns about medication side effects and culturally insensitive health care for gay men. Jackson participants described stronger medical mistrust, and more frequently described experiences of anti-gay and HIV related stigma. Multiple addressable barriers to PrEP uptake were described. Information about side effects should be explicitly addressed in PrEP education campaigns.

Dean Browning, a former Republican congressional candidate in Allentown, Pennsylvania, found himself in the middle of a Twitter mishap on Tuesday. Another user commented on his tweet arguing that Donald Trump only inherited the economy that former President Barack Obama helped to create. I feel respected — which I never do when democrats are involved. He was accused of accidentally posting it from another fake account he used on the side. Washington Post journalist Phillip Bump did some digging and found an account with the name of Dan Purdy, a gay black Trump supporter who joined Twitter in October. The Dan Purdy account has a cartoon of a black man on it and includes a history of racist and sexist remarks. There have been dozens of pro-Trump accounts recognized by the Washington Post since that claim to be Black Trump voters.

As a homosexual man of British-Caribbean decent, I have struggled my entire life to satisfy the expectations of the black community, while still staying true to my gay self. Growing up I often questioned my sexuality; although I recognised and accepted my attraction to men, I knew from a young age, that there would come a time when my parents would discover I was gay, and that this would be a significant and extremely difficult moment in my life. What I knew of gay culture, growing up, came from homosexual characters featured in British television sitcoms. I had nothing in common with the gay men represented in mainstream media.
