With winter fast approaching and COVID cases rising throughout the region, Vermont has revised its guidance for recreational sports and college athletics in the past week. Clubs, organizations and leagues not directly affiliated with a school are restricted to in-state activities only, according to the new ACCD guidance. Any athlete or team leaving the state to do so must complete a quarantine period before returning to work or school, or visiting a public facility. The quarantine requirement applies to events that may take place in an otherwise quarantine-free county listed on the ACCD's most recent cross-state travel map. Individuals from neighboring states who belong to a Vermont-based organization or league, or routinely utilize a training facility in Vermont may continue to participate if they reside in "green" counties eligible for quarantine-free travel to Vermont, the new guidance states.
